- Day 2: Finding, planning and designing your site, 16th June
- Day 3: Organising your group, and governance, August
- Day 4: Recruitment, training and looking after your staff and volunteers, November
- Day 5: Understanding finance, fundraising and income generation. February
Attendees can come along to one, or all of the sessions, depending on what topics would be most useful for their project. There is a 25% discount for booking all five training sessions.
Places are limited to 15 people per course, so please pay and book in advance. Due to limited spaces we can only accept a maximum of 2 delegates per organisation. There is a free lunch available, and access bursaries if you need support to attend the training (eg transport, creche etc).
Involving communities and profile raising
This training day will explore community engagement and look at different techniques for involving communities in your project. We will look at best practice in community development, and hear from Granton Community Gardeners about how they have sought to involve and develop communities over the course of their project.
We will also look at different ways to promote your project, whether it be posters, social media, local press etc. EVOC will also run a workshop to map the different agencies and organisations that can help to support and raise the profile of your project.
